Elisabeth, a Grand Rapids native and the eldest of seven children, has always been a natural leader. From an early age, her unwavering drive and determination fueled her journey to overcome challenges and create opportunities—not just for herself, but for others. Her experiences in competitive sports taught her discipline, resilience, and the importance of embracing fear to achieve greatness, lessons she carries into every aspect of her entrepreneurial journey.

Initially, Elisabeth thought her path might lead to nursing. She began her studies at Michigan State University, driven by a desire to help others. However, her true passion for creativity and connection soon led her to pivot toward cosmetology, where she discovered the perfect blend of artistry and care. This decision set the foundation for her entrepreneurial journey.

After graduating from Chic University, Elisabeth sought advanced education under top mentors in Grand Rapids and beyond, training with industry leaders in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. This dedication to growth led her to the Las Vegas Strip, where she honed her skills as a Color Specialist at the renowned ARIA Resort Salon and the Mandarin Oriental.

In 2012, Elisabeth returned to Grand Rapids armed with a wealth of knowledge and a burning desire to create something extraordinary. She opened Chasing Vanity Salon in 2013, combining her passion for beauty with her entrepreneurial spirit. Her drive to innovate didn’t stop there—by 2019, she expanded her dream by launching CV Medi Spa, a cutting-edge aesthetic practice that blends science and artistry to empower clients through transformative care.

As a business owner, Elisabeth’s true passion lies in fostering the growth of others. She is committed to shaping the careers of her team, providing mentorship, education, and opportunities to help them thrive. By inviting top educators and industry experts to Chasing Vanity, she ensures her team stays ahead of trends and continues to set new standards for excellence.

Elisabeth’s entrepreneurial journey has not been without obstacles, but her determination to overcome adversity has only strengthened her commitment to empowering women in business. When she’s not leading her team or exploring new business ventures, Elisabeth loves traveling, playing pickleball, hiking, and spending time with her neices and nephews, and her husband, Adam. As one of the original team members, Abby has been with CV since day one! Her role as Salon Guest Coordinator has granted her the amazing opportunity to serve our guests, and provide exceptional guest service. One of her favorite parts of being on the CV team is the opportunity to get to know and form meaningful relationships with our amazing guests. Abby is an avid lover of sweet treats, changing her hair color, curling up on the couch with her husband, Tony, and going on adventures. In January 2024 Abby embarked on her greatest adventure yet when she and Tony safely welcomed their beautiful son Sawyer into their family. When she is not at CV, she loves soaking up all those baby snuggles, a good cup of coffee, and playing with her three cats.

Meet Allie, your hair guru with a passion for staying ahead of the curve! With one year of experience in the salon industry, she thrives when providing blondings, updos, and lash lifts and tints, as this is where she believes she can really bring creativity to life. Education is at the forefront of Allie’s professional career journey. She is always eager to learn something new and tries hard to stay on top of the latest trends in the industry. Medi Spa, Aesthetic Nurse Injector
Ashton is a licensed registered nurse with a lifelong passion for medical aesthetics. She worked for many years as an ER nurse before transitioning into professional aesthetic nursing. She received her neuromodulator and dermal filler certifications from The American Academy of Facial esthetics (AAFE). Ashton is a member of both the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN) and the AAFE. With an active mind, Ashton continually pursues additional opportunities for advancing her aesthetic nurse education, and she is currently working on completing her masters degree in nursing. Ashton supports a deep commitment to safe nursing practice and has been recognized for her excellent communication skills. Through the application of shared decision making, Ashton meticulously strives to grasp her clients’ individual aesthetic objectives, thereby formulating personalized treatment plans that are precisely tailored to meet their needs. She showcases a distinctive talent for establishing a robust collaborative connection with her clients, ensuring they always feel comfortable during their treatments. Ashton lives in the Battle Creek area with her husband, two dogs, one cat, eleven chickens, and eight ducks. Meet Becca a.k.a. Becks. Becks graduated from Aveda in 2016 and has been with CV since. Becks excels in cut and color services and has a firm belief that they go hand in hand. Becks is adamant that the looks she creates with her guests should check off the three F's Flexible, Functional, and FABULOUS. Becca is a session stylist with Kevin Murphy and is involved in the assistant training program at CV! When she is not behind the chair you can usually find her with some sort of animal, usually with my dog Reagan, but occasionally with an Alpaca or two. Becca can't wait to meet you in her chair, to make you look and feel your very best.

Meet Madeline, but feel free to call her Maddie! Joining the CV family as a makeup artist in 2015, she found a passion in helping people feel their most confident. This led her down the path of Permanent Makeup, becoming a certified Phi Academy BoldBrows Artist in 2021, and a Permanent Makeup Academy Nano Brows Artist in 2022 as well as earning a Lash Technician certificate in 2023. As a makeup artist, Maddie loves offering dramatic, clean and everything in between. She took her meticulous eye for detail and ventured into Permanent Makeup. She has dedicated herself to delivering the latest and greatest Microblading and Nano Brow techniques, and she has invested in expanding CV’s Permanent Makeup service offerings. As a true artist, Maddie strives to give each client a personalized beauty experience leaving them feeling their most confident. She specializes in brow design, Microblading and Nano Brow, airbrush makeup, and classic lash extensions. Maddie has performed in professional and community theater and film productions since the age of 9. It was through this adoration of performing that she was able to find her passion for makeup. When Maddie isn’t at CV, you’ll find her snuggled up with her dog Oscar Wilde and her husband, David. She also enjoys theater, concerts, camping and going to the movies.

McKenna, a 2017 graduate in medical assisting, is dedicated to her profession and passionate about helping others. She joined the CV family because she fell in love with the staff’s energy and welcoming environment. McKenna is known for her excellent communication skills, attention to detail, her sharp wit and contagious laughter that lights up any room. When not at CV Medi Spa, McKenna is likely spending time with her beloved dogs, Gus and Yogi. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, attending and organizing Celtic festivals, and trying any cheese pizza she can find.

Meet Shi! Shi has been with Chasing Vanity for 2 years. She has worked at the front desk since 2022 and is now a stylist! Shi graduated from Douglas J Aveda Institute in 2023 and is passionate about client experience and dimensional color. Effortless blondes and brunettes are where her heart is, and wants to guarantee that every client that sits in her chair feels welcome and leaves feeling taken care of. Shi also offers lash lift and tints and loves performing them. When she is not behind the chair, Shi spends her free time with her dog, Dixie, her family, going out with friends, and spending every possible moment in the sunshine with a book in hand.

As a child, she wanted to be a veterinarian and although her professional career took a different path, her love for animals reflects her true compassionate nature. Originally from Grand Haven, Tatum has always loved everything beauty related. She moved to Marquette where she attended Northern Michigan University and graduated in cosmetology. Although Tatum fell in love with the UP, once she graduated she came to the Grand Rapids area and found her home at Chasing Vanity Salon. As an apprentice stylist in the assistant program, Tatum is immersed in the art of hair, perfecting her craft with each day. For Tatum, Chasing Vanity is not just about the look, it's about the feel. The warm and inviting atmosphere that greets you at the door and the personalized care that follows you throughout your entire experience. Tatum is here to learn, create, and ensure your visit is nothing short of fabulous. In her free time, you can find Tatum hanging out with her friends, going on walks, hiking, and cuddling with her kitten Koala. Meet Terri, a licensed medical aesthetician and certified laser technician. Her passion for the beauty industry and achieving beautiful skin began in high school, although it took her years to recognize this passion. In 2018, she decided to change her career path and pursue medical aesthetics. Terri graduated from Douglas J Aveda Institute. Terri received her laser certification from National Laser Institute in 2020. Working for Chasing Vanity is where Terri found her professional home and her experiences have taken her knowledge to new heights. Terri is passionate about achieving her client’s goals through a combination of skincare and laser services right alongside the perfect medical grade product regimens in order to meet their specific aesthetic needs. Terri is a mother to the most adorable little boy and she has a dog named Leo. In their spare time, you can find them at the beach and taking long walks (a.k.a shopping).
